The Association Eurocentrica supported the international conference „Textiles and war in Europe and the Mediterranean from Prehistory to Late Antiquity” by offering 3000 RON for the official dinner of this event of high scientific status that took place in Bucharest between 17 and 19 May 2023.

The conference – the first that has ever tackled this developing branch of study – was organized by the Institute of Advanced Study in Levantine Culture and Civilization of Bucharest and the University of Salento, Italy, under the framework of the European COST network  “EuroWeb: Europe through Textiles: Network for an integrated and interdisciplinary Humanities”.

Hosting as well the official launch of the Digital Atlas of European Textile Heritage and the meeting of the Management Committee of Euroweb, the event held in Bucharest gathered around 30 reputed researchers from Italy, Romania, Spain, Portugal, United Kingdom, Germany, Poland, Bulgaria, Albania, Turkey and Tunisia.

Eurocentrica financially supported the official dinner of the event, on 18 May, a part of the program whose aim was to facilitate networking. Thus, new ambitious research projects were sketched.

The support offered by Eurocentrica was made possible by a sponsorship of 2500 RON provided by the Romanian company Trident Pharma and by the association’s own funds.
