The Association Eurocentrica identified and supported four young volunteers to take part to the archaeological excavations conducted between 16 June – 14 July on the Western Plateau of the ancient city of Histria by an international team led by Professor Adam Rabinowitz from the University of Texas. The action is part of Eurocentrica’s project “Support for the archaeological research at the ancient city of Histria 2019”, sponsored by SC Trident Pharma SRL.
The Association Eurocentrica selected as volunteers the following youngsters: Simina Lupu, pupil at “Queen Mary” National Pedagogical High-School of Ploieşti, Mykhailo Voitsykevych and Oleksandr Yakibchuk, students at the History, Political Studies and International Relations Department of the “Yuriy Fedkovich” National University of Chernivtsi, Ukraine, and Alina Iancu, PhD student at the Faculty of History of the University of Bucharest.
The four volunteers participated to excavations in two stages of two weeks each, providing valuable support to the researchers and developping at the same time several skills specific to archaeological work.
