Positive aspects of Roma migration: Promotion and presentation
Eurocentrica Association launches the project : “Positive aspects of migration: Roma women and Roma craftspersons as agents of change”.
The project is financed through a grant from Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein and the Romanian Government, as part of the Program PA17/RO13 -the promotion of diversity in arts and culture, within the European cultural heritage. The total eligible value of the project is 316.379 lei.
The general objective of the project is to enhance the cultural dialogue and to protect the European identity through the understanding of the cultural diversity and the promotion of the positive aspects of Roma migration (Roma women and Roma craftsperson as agents of change).
The specific objectives of the project are:
– to document the cultural history of Roma and to determine a better understanding of cultural diversity by realizing a research study on the emancipation of Roma women as a positive factor of migration.
– to determine a better understanding of cultural diversity and to consolidate the intercultural dialogue by promoting the traditional Roma crafts within two festivals organized in Norway
– to consolidate the access of the public to the Roma culture by disseminating the research study and by organizing two crafts festivals in Norway
The target group of the project consists of: Roma women, members of Roma communities, Roma craftsperson.
The main activities of the project consist in realizing a research study and of two crafts festivals in two cities in Norway.
The project spans over a period of 13 months, in Bucharest.
